Social responsibility is a firm aspect of our corporate principles and is also an important topic outside of our business operations.
Social commitment is important to us. We focus to a large extent on projects in IT in this respect. For this reason, we are particularly committed to promoting junior IT staff in Switzerland and abroad.
In addition, we are also conscious of our responsibility outside of IT and support various initiatives from the social sphere, in environmental protection and culture.

Promotion of new talent
bbv is actively involved in promoting junior IT staff. We organise taster days and offer apprenticeships and the Young Professional Programme. In this way, we want young people to have a sense of enthusiasm for the topic of IT, just like us.
Fostering future talent with CoderDojo
Children and young people between the ages of 7 and 17 meet once a month at the CoderDojo in Lucerne.
They get to know the world of programming in a playful manner from dedicated software engineers. And who knows, perhaps some of the girls and boys will follow in the footsteps of their mentors one day.
Monastery and orphanage “Linh Son Pagoda”
For a number of years now, bbv has supported the monastery and orphanage “Linh Son Pagoda” in Vietnam, which was established in 1996 by Buddhist nuns. The facility provides shelter and care for children with intellectual disabilities in addition to orphaned children. “Linh Son Pagoda” cares for the children until they come of age and have finished their school education. bbv also supports them beyond this time.
Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts
The close cooperation with the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts is a particular passion of ours. And one that we further intensified with our support for the establishment of the Computer Science department. It is important to us to underpin the training of the next generation of computer scientists and to promote innovation in research and development in the region.
Wasser für Wasser (WfW)
In Switzerland, clean water is a given. But this is not the case in many parts of the world. This is why «Wasser für Wasser (WfW)» promotes the drinking of tap water, raises awareness for the value of clean water and integrates donations into everyday life. Together with bbv and over 500 partner companies, WfW enables sustainable access to drinking water and basic sanitation in urban areas of Zambia and Mozambique.
