Networking machines intelligently for improved customer service: an intuitive app for iOS and Android shows Agathon customers everything at a glance. bbv helped the customer to develop the cloud-based solution with Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud. The complex application was to be developed using agile methods and scrum based on a proof of concept.

Innovation with industrial IoT
bbv supported GF Machining Solutions in the development of an IoT solution with which customers can optimise the manufacturing process and increase quality. Together with the customer, bbv developed the “Process Inspector” from the edge modules to the cloud backend and storage as well as the web frontend to the integration into the Digital Hub.

Implementation of a hardened Linux system for machine tools
Industrial grade Linux is used primarily in an industrial environment. bbv was engaged by Affolter Technologies SA to develop a tailored Linux system, which could also operate reliably in a harsh industrial environment and could be updated easily without the need for service engineers and connection to the network. Boot process, file system, remote interfaces and drivers were optimised for this purpose.

bbv supports Swiss Police with video number plate recognition
bbv developed an application for crime prevention and investigation, which compares car number plates and wanted lists using video cameras. Since it first developed the application more than ten years ago, bbv has reliably supported the Swiss Competence Centre “Polizeitechnik und Informatik PTI” in supporting and enhancing it.

Development of a tool for deployment planning and budgeting
As part of the Bologna reform, the Hochschule für Technik Rapperswil (HSR) adapted its planning and budgeting process to the new requirements so that students can compile their own modular course units themselves. A client/server model with MS SQL and .NET was used as the architecture for the development.

Business customers of ARP can order ink and toner for more than 70,000 printers and faxes using an iPhone app anywhere and any time. bbv designed and programmed the iPhone app together with ARP in an agile software development process. PhoneGap and web technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3 were used.
