Software for physically calculating ropeways

GARAtre is a software solution for physically calculating ropeways. The program is used by development engineers in the Garaventa/Doppelmayr Group for designing ropeways and verifying compliance with standards. bbv developed the software for Garaventa in an agile software development process.

When it comes to designing ropeways and verifying compliance with standards, various physical calculations need to be performed, which are dependent on load conditions and external influences. Garaventa was seeking a partner who could develop the software and integrate a lightweight CAD system.

bbv used the latest .NET technologies to develop the software in accordance with an agile, methods-based scrum approach and in close cooperation with the customer. A DevExpress solution was used to meet the extensive reporting requirements. Compared with the previous version, the new software offers considerably more functions and allows Garaventa to advise its customers more efficiently and purposefully.
